Fun in San Antonio, TX

This is the second time I have visited San Antonio.  I like everything about it (except maybe the heat).  There's a lot to do and see here and a lot of history.

The Alamo is a beautiful place to visit. They do not allow photos inside.  These are photos of the beautiful, lush grounds.

Moving on from the most popular thing in San Antonio (The Alamo) . . .

You can't go wrong taking one of the little Riverwalk cruises.  You learn alot about San Antonio's history and the efforts to preserve their beautiful buildings.

A cute family of mallards who know to get out of the way of the boat!

EMILY MORGAN – “The Yellow Rose of Texas”
Heroine of the Texas Revolution
Circa 1815 -- ??
On April 21, 1836, a band of ragged Texian troops under the command of General Sam Houston surprised and defeated the far superior forces of Mexican despot President Generalisimo Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna along the banks of the San Jacinto River.  Santa Anna’s eye for women and Emily Morgan’s allegiance to Texas proved to be a fatal combination for Mexico.  Sam Houston’s daring afternoon attack was prompted by messages originated from within Santa Anna’s own tent, for the beautiful Emily Morgan was a Texian spy.  The Emily Morgan Hotel is dedicated to the romantic legend of Emily Morgan, The Yellow Rose of Texas.

I love this beautiful building, the Emily Morgan Hotel.

Other pretty things around San Antonio:
On some of the walls around the city, there were these beautiful mosaics.

And, who doesn't love the Weinermobile?!?
